Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl
One of my favorite Breakfast Bowls is made with Oatmeal, Cranberries and Pecans. This bowl is so filling and full of goodness! I came up with this recipe a couple of years ago, when Ken and I were living in Niagara Falls, and Ken was just starting his journey into the Plant Based Life Style.

There are many people feel that cranberries is suppose to be one of those superfoods due to their high nutrient and antioxidant contents. Research in fact indicates that the nutrient links to a lower risk to having a UTI, prevention of certain kinds of cancer, and improved immune function and reduced blood pressure.

For those those trying to better control their Blood Sugars, Steel Cut Oats may be the best choice for them. Steel Cut Oats are slightly higher in fiber than rolled oats The are also the lowest glycemic index of the three types of oats.

1/2 cup Rolled Oats
2 tbsp. Pecan
2 tbsp. Cranberries
1/2 Unsweetened Almond Milk
Pinch of Cane Sugar – If needed)
1/4 cup of Bran Flakes
Pinch Buckwheat Groats
Directions
- Level scoop of Rolled Oats into your bowl
- I add a pinch of Buckwheat Groats as well just because I like it, but if not that is fine as well
- Then add the Bran Flakes
- Get your tbsp of Cranberries and Pecans
- I like a pinch of Cane Sugar as well, which is nice
- Then add your favorite Plant Based Milk, I switch back and forth from Almond to Cashew, but always unsweetened.
Give this easy recipe a try, its a fantastic way to start your day! By all means substitute the cranberries for fresh blueberries, or banana, its all good natural food for your soul!
