Antioxidants

The juice of the Pomegranate has higher levels of antioxidants than most of the other juices. These antioxidants can help remove free radicals, help protect cells from damage, and reduce inflammation, one of the main reasons why I make this juice. Other than the fact it tastes fantastic!

Vitamin C

The juice from this amazing fruit has more than 40% of your daily requirement of Vitamin C.

Cancer Prevention

Researchers have recently found that it may help stop the growth of prostate cancer cells. Though after many studies this claim is still preliminary.

Alzheimer’s disease protection

A high concentration of antioxidants is thought to stall the process of Alzheimer’s disease and can even help protect your precious memories.

Digestion

With the reduction of inflammation in the gut, can help improve your digestion. This juice may also be beneficial for people with Crohn’s disease and other maladies of the gut and digestive tract.

Ant-inflammatory

This juice is also a powerful anti-inflammatory which is contributed to the high levels of antioxidants. This will help reduce inflammation throughout the body.

Arthritis

The Flavonols found in the this juice can help block the inflammation that contributes to osteoarthritis and cartilage damage. There is currently a study being conducted for the potential effects on osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis and other types of arthritis and joint problems.

Heart disease

Here is an interesting fact, Pomegranate juice is easily the most heart healthy juice out there. There is evidence that suggests it helps protect the heart and arteries. Some studies indicate that the juice improves blood flow and keeps arteries from becoming stiff and thick.

The juice may react negatively with blood pressure and cholesterol medications so be sure to check with your Doctor.

Blood Pressure

Drinking this freshly made juice can help in reducing your blood pressure. I know for me, my blood pressure was elevated for a time and I combined Juicing with weight loss to help me lower my blood pressure.

Antiviral

This juice is a cocktail full of Vitamin C and other outstanding immune-boosting nutrients such as vitamin E. These vitamins can help prevent illness and fight off infection.

Sexual performance and fertility

Pomegranate Juice is packed full of antioxidants can be a potential fertility aid. This juice has also been shown to help increase testosterone levels in both men and women, one of the main hormones behind sex drive.

Diabetes

Reduction of insulin resistance and lower blood sugar, Pomegranate’s were traditionally used as remedies for diabetes in the Middle East and India.

Bottom line

Green juice isn’t the only healthy option out there. I add a bottle or two of freshly made Pomegranate juice to my weekly diet. It’s also a great way of reducing your risk of chronic diseases and inflammation.

I like to sometimes add apple or orange to my pomegranate juice just to add some different flavors.

Easy to Make Pomegranate and Apple Juice

Ingredients

  • 2 Delicious Apples

  • 2 Pomegranates

  • Lemon (for some zing)

  • Thumb sized piece of ginger (once again to add a change)

Directions

  • The first step for any juice we will make, we give all the fruits and vegetables a good soaking in the sick to make sure they are good and clean
  • Slice and core two medium-sized apples. I have used delicious and Granny Smith apples for this receipt. It will depend on your preferences. If you take the time to clean out the pits and the stem, you can always use the pulp for tasty veggie crackers.
  • Peel and pit two medium to large Pomegranates. Once you have removed all of the seeds. Give them a wash as well.
  • Slowly pour the seeds into the Juicer.
  • add lemon (1/2) to the juicer
  • Put one piece of apple in at a time until all four wedges have been through the Juicer.
  • Pour on ice and enjoy!
